
MANILA, Philippines – A magnitude 6.1 earthquake jolted components of Batangas Sunday morning, in response to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The earthquake of tectonic struck at 5:50 a.m. 21 kilometers west of Calatagan city.
It had a depth of focus of 132 kilometers.
It was felt at Depth III in Quezon Metropolis, Instrumental Depth IV in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro;
Instrumental Depth III in Calapan Metropolis, Oriental Mindoro; Malolos Metropolis, Bulacan and Instrumental
Depth II in Marikina Metropolis.
Phivolcs warned that aftershocks and injury to infrastructure are anticipated.
