MANILA, Philippines — The re-implementation of the quantity coding scheme throughout rush hours in Metro Manila will start on December 1, Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Growth Authority (MMDA) introduced.
The MMDA stated the number coding scheme can be efficient Mondays to Fridays, from 5 p.m. to eight p.m., besides on holidays, and can solely cowl personal autos.
The authorities reminded motorists that autos with plates ending in 1 and a couple of are prohibited on Monday, 3 and 4 on Tuesday, 5 and 6 on Wednesday, 7 and eight on Thursday, 9 and 0 on Friday.
“Information reveals that the journey pace alongside the northbound portion of EDSA is 9.66 kilometers per hour. Therefore, we now have to reinstate the quantity coding scheme through the afternoon rush hours to handle the issue. Exempted from the modified quantity coding scheme are public utility autos (together with tricycles), transport community automobile providers (TNVS), bikes, rubbish vehicles, gasoline vehicles, motor autos carrying important and/or perishable items.
In the meantime, Abalos stated the sunshine vehicles ban alongside EDSA can be reimplemented, however with modification.
Gentle vehicles shall be prohibited alongside EDSA between Magallanes, Makati Metropolis and North Avenue, Quezon Metropolis, each northbound and southbound, from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Mondays to Fridays, besides holidays.
